Shepherds College Advancement Department

The following position is currently available within our Advancement department:

Advancement Officer - Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Regular First Shift Hours, Some Travel Required; $55,000 - $65,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY:

As a Shepherds College Advancement Officer you will initiate and cultivate relationships with potential major donors (individuals, businesses, and foundations) who have the capability of making significant financial contributions to the ministry of Shepherds College to maintain and build strong relationships with existing major donors; and to professionally and effectively ask for financial gifts to fund the mission and programs of Shepherds College.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of successful experience in major or planned gifts (preferably in higher education or ministry), a successful background in donor development, recruitment or business sales and marketing, the ability to lead diverse initiatives and influence people towards goals, strong social and people skills and a demonstrated ability to persuade and call to advance God’s Kingdom through financial stewardship.

 

Shepherds College Academic Program

The following positions are currently available within our Shepherds College Academic Program:

Advisor - Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours; $32,000 - $35,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY:

As a Shepherds College Advisor you will promote student growth towards Appropriate IndependenceTM, facilitate academic progress, advocate for student needs, develop goals and supports in order to promote student achievement and instruct classes as assigned (if desired). You will provide academic advisement and regular counseling for an assigned group of students through regular individual meetings and personal connections. You will act as the primary liaison and point of contact between parents of advisees and Shepherds College in addition to interacting with instructors regarding the academic goals of the students on your caseload. You will understand the medical needs of students and work with the nursing department to ensure that those needs are being met. Lastly, you will communicate with outside community professionals regarding medical and psychological health needs for the students on your caseload.

Instructor - Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours; $35,000 - $40,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY:

As a Shepherds College Instructor you will facilitate academic development for students by providing practical classroom training and instruction, all in an effort to promote students’ growth towards Appropriate IndependenceTM. You will evaluate the academic needs of students and assist in the selection of appropriate curriculum materials which meet the needs of students and the objectives of the program. You will present lessons utilizing effective instruction methods and complete weekly lesson plans and lesson overviews. You will also assess students’ knowledge, understanding and skills regularly and complete and maintain student records on an ongoing basis. Lastly, you will contribute to continuous school improvement, serve on an accreditation team and interact with other instructors and advisors regarding the academic goals of individual students.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, experience working in an educational setting as a tutor or classroom assistant, experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, a strong commitment to student learning and development, effective communication skills (including both verbal and written communication) and a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Paraprofessional - Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours; $11 - $12/hour

SUMMARY:

As a Shepherds College Paraprofessional you will serve in a support role to instructors, working with individuals or groups of students in order to enhance classroom learning. You will assist students in preparing for instruction, supervise students in assigned areas before classes, manage classroom disruptions, facilitate the work of students in small groups and work one-on-one with students as needed. You will co-teach lesson components as determined by the instructor, supervise students during the lunch hour, facilitate the growth of Appropriate IndependenceTM, support classroom instruction methods and procedures and observe and record information related to the tracking of student behavior.

Shepherds College Residential Life Program

The following positions are currently available within our Residential Life program:

Residential Life Area Supervisor - Full Time / Benefit-Eligible; Sunday – Thursday 12:00pm – 9:00pm OR Tuesday – Saturday 12:00pm – 9:00pm; $33,000 - $35,000/year (depending upon experience)

Residential Life Staff - Full Time / Benefit-Eligible; Sunday – Thursday 12:00pm – 9:00pm OR Tuesday – Saturday 12:00pm – 9:00pm; $11-$12/hour

Residential Life Weekend Staff – Part Time & Full Time Opportunities Available / Potential for Benefit Eligibility; Saturdays & Sundays 7:00am – 9:00pm; FREE On-Campus Housing Available; $11-$12/hour

As a Residential Life staff member you will be working hands-on with our students to develop the skills necessary for life after graduation. Whether you are teaching students how to cook or facilitating an outing to a baseball game, you will be creating a positive and lasting impact in their lives and futures. This position is perfect for future educators, social workers and those who have a passion for ministry.

Shepherds College Nursing Department

The following position is currently available within our Nursing Department:

Nurse Supervisor - Full Time / Benefit-Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours with Some On-Call Responsibilities; $50,000 - $55,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY:

As the Nurse Supervisor you will develop, implement and supervise medical protocol in an effort to guide staff and support students. You will collaborate with others to challenge students towards Appropriate IndependenceTM and continuously improve practices. You will supervise nursing department staff and provide training, communication and direction to all staff and students regarding medical protocol. You will manage the nursing department including internal and external communication, documentation, supplies and systems and oversee the medical component of prospective and enrolled students and implement physician orders. You will promote continuous improvement and program development, provide input and direction during medical, behavioral or mental health concerns or crises and triage student medical needs and create treatment plans. You will provide on-call support regularly and respond to emergency situations in addition to coordinating the hiring, staffing and scheduling within the nursing department.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a currently license in good standing with the state of Wisconsin, experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or nursing case management experience, effective communication skills and strong organizational skills, people skills and computer skills.
