Shepherds College Advancement Department

The following positions are currently available within our Advancement department:

Advancement Officer

Full-Time, Benefit-Eligible; Regular First Shift Hours, Some Travel Required; $55,000–$65,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY

As a Shepherds College Advancement Officer, you will initiate and cultivate relationships with potential major donors (individuals, businesses, and foundations) who have the capability of making significant financial contributions to the ministry of Shepherds College; to maintain and build strong relationships with existing major donors; and to professionally and effectively ask for financial gifts to fund the mission and programs of Shepherds College.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of successful experience in major or planned gifts (preferably in higher education or ministry), a successful background in donor development, recruitment or business sales and marketing, the ability to lead diverse initiatives and influence people towards goals, strong social and people skills, and a demonstrated ability to persuade and call to advance God’s Kingdom through financial stewardship.

Planned Giving Officer 

Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Regular First Shift Hours, Some Travel Required; $60,000 - $75,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY

As the Shepherds College Planned Giving Officer, you will serve as the primary college solicitor of planned gifts in furthering the mission of Shepherds College. You will be responsible for strategic leadership and direction of our gift planning efforts. Planned giving is a significant component of a comprehensive development program at the ministry and compliments other forms of fundraising, especially major gifts solicitation. The main focus of this position will be to develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors through the giving process.


Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Bachelor’s degree with at least five or more years of experience showing success in fundraising or planned giving with a proven record of success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding planned gifts from individuals, a clear knowledge and understanding of gift planning methodologies, demonstrated experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects, donors and developing strategies, demonstrated successful experience in soliciting, negotiating and closing planned gifts or major gifts of $10,000 or more and building long term relationships with donors, a commitment to excellent job performance and teamwork and the ability and willingness to travel and work with potential donors including occasional weekend and evening hours and responsibilities.

Shepherds College Academic Program

The following position is currently available within our Shepherds College Academic Program:

Horticulture Assistant

Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours; $12-$15/hour (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY

As the Horticulture Assistant you will serve as an assistant to the Shepherds College Lead Horticulture Instructor, working with individuals or groups of students in order to enhance learning in the horticulture specialty major. You will assist students in preparation for instruction, support classroom and laboratory instruction methods and procedures, co-teach lesson components, support students with learning activities and organizational skills, observe and record student behavior and transport students to and from field experience placements.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, experience working in an educational setting as an Instructor, Tutor or Classroom Assistant, willingness and experience working in both outdoor and indoor horticulture environments, experience in safe operation of horticulture machinery, equipment and structures, basic understanding of taxonomic language, effective communication skills (both written and verbal), customer service skills, strong organizational skills and a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred requirements for this position include a minimum of an Associate's degree, a degree or certification related to horticulture or plant-based sciences, 2 or more years of professional experience working in a landscape and/or produce garden and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Employment Specialist & Enterprise Coordinator

Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Regular First Shift Hours; $35,000/year

SUMMARY

As the Shepherds College Employment Specialist & Enterprise Coordinator you will be responsible for the placement of Shepherds College alumni and clients, the coordination and development of the different enterprises within Shepherds College and oversee all facets of the Federal Student Work Study Program. You will establish relationships with graduates and clients to gain awareness of their interests, skills and aspirations, initiate contacts with businesses and potential employers, coordinate and develop individual placement plans and assessments, assist individuals in job seeking skills, the application process and job retention skills and perform job coaching as needed to ensure that individuals are able to maintain employment. You will manage all on-campus client employees, maintain accurate time keeping records and create reports as needed and coordinate all services and events for Shepherds College alumni.

One-on-One Paraprofessional

Full Time / Benefit Eligible; Monday – Friday from 7:00am - 3:00pm; $25,000/year (if ABA certified)

SUMMARY:

As a One-on-One Paraprofessional you will serve in a support role to the Shepherds College Instructors, working with an individual student in order to enhance classroom learning. You will assist the student in preparation for instruction, co-teach lesson components as determined by the Instructors, support the student with learning activities and organizational skills, manage classroom disruptions, provide ongoing support to the student as he/she clocks in and out for classes, facilitate the growth of Appropriate Independence and observe and record student behavior.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, willingness to incorporate teaching methods and procedures of the Instructors, effective communication skills - both verbal and written, strong organizational skills and a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred requirements for this position include ABA certification, experience working as a tutor or classroom assistant, a Bachelor's degree and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Shepherds College Nursing Department

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Full Time / Benefit-Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours with Regular On-Call Responsibilities; $40,000/year

SUMMARY

As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Shepherds College you will assist in developing, implementing and supporting medical protocol in an effort to guide staff and support students. You will collaborate with others to challenge students towards Appropriate Independence™ and provide for medical needs. You will assist in facilitating internal and external communication, documentation, supplies and systems. You will assist in the medical component of prospective and enrolled students and implementation of physician orders. You will promote continuous improvement and program development, provide input and direction during medical, behavioral or mental health concerns or crises, triage students medical needs and create treatment plans and pack and check medications as assigned.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current license in good standing with the state of Wisconsin, experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or nursing case management, effective communication skills (verbal and written), strong organizational, people and computer skills and possesses a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shepherds College Kitchen

The following position is currently available within our Shepherds College Kitchen:

Food Service Manager & Commercial Kitchen Lead

Full Time / Benefit-Eligible; Monday – Friday, Regular First Shift Hours with Very Occasional Night & Weekend Hours (For Special Events Only); $30,000 - $33,000/year (depending upon experience)

SUMMARY

As the Lead Chef & Food Service Manager for Shepherds College Kitchen you will be responsible for producing high quality food, following best practices in food safety, supervising and instructing student workers and managing the food service staff. Along with the Culinary Arts Director you will monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, presentation of food and special diets in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner. You will monitor budgets and review financial transactions in order to ensure that expenditures are authorized and properly applied to the budget. You will order, schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify quality and quantity. You will review menus and analyze recipes in order to provide healthy, cost-efficient meals. You will schedule staffing hours and student field experience hours in addition to ordering and purchasing equipment and supplies in collaboration with the Culinary Arts Director. You will monitor compliance with the health department, State of Wisconsin regulations and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving and building maintenance in the kitchen and food service areas.

Requirements for this position include being a born again Christian committed to a local Bible believing church with a lifestyle that is in agreement with the Shepherds College Mission Statement, a Bachelor's degree in a culinary arts-related field (preferred) or an Associate's degree in a culinary arts-related field (minimum requirement), at least 1-2 years of experience related to culinary arts, food preparation, etc., experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, strong organizational and communication skills, must be customer service oriented and must possess a high level of professionalism, including the ability to maintain confidentiality.
